The BFDG is a flourishing, growing, professional group of skilled Creatives and Production Designers, spanning the various branches of the Art Department in Film, Television and Commercials.

Formed over 75 years ago with the aim of raising the standards and profile of the Art Department and protecting the interests of BFDG members. Those core principles still apply today, and BFDG are a thriving and evolving creative community.

BFDG offer members a range of benefits including the opportunity to promote themselves and their work, networking events (which includes workshops, design forums and informative Q&A sessions), unique accident insurance, work availability information, industry news and the highlight of the year, the annual awards which celebrates their members’ talents.

The 13th BFDG Production Design Awards is the highlight of the film and TV design year. Celebrating Production Designers, Art Department and Set Decorator crew, this glittering black tie gala brings the best of British talent into the ballroom to celebrate at The Londoner Hotel on the night of the 24 February 2024.

 

HOW TO ENTER

 

IMPORTANT TO NOTE

  • Images of your work can be drawings, visuals, photography of hand made models, or mood boards. Please note that the design projects don't have to be designed in Vectorworks. 
  • Enter for a chance to be one of the 5 lucky winners to win 2 tickets to the 13th BFDG Production Design Awards.
  • Please note that the competition participants must be students or trainees in the entertainment industry.
  • This competition is held in association with the The British Film Designers Guild. Entries will be judged by Vectorworks Senior Industry Specialist, Kesoon Chance and BFDG's Chairperson, Blair Barnette.

 TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

  • The participants must be students or trainees in the entertainment industry
  • Entries must be submitted between 25 September 2023 and 19 January 2024. Entries submitted after this deadline will not be considered.
  • The winner will be notified via Instagram Direct Message. In these cases, all claims to profit are void:
    • The winner cannot be reached within 5 working days
  • In this case, a subsequent winner will be determined again.
  • This competition is only open to design and art department students and trainees aged 18+.
  • Participants must be residing in the UK or Ireland. 2022 competition winners, Vectorworks UK Ltd employees and their relatives are excluded from participation.
  • The prize is for 2 x tickets to The 13th BFDG Production Design Awards.
  • The prize cannot be paid out, is non-transferable and not redeemable against any Vectorworks purchase.
  • This competition is in no way affiliated with, sponsored or administered by Instagram.
